  As I stated in my last production blog, I changed the title of the movie to something more relevant to the story. From now on the film will be called "Hero of The Nunchucks." This project was so much fun to work on these past few months. I hope to use this experience as a reference for when I create my own personal content in my free time. I surely hope you enjoy the opening scene of  what would be a very spectacular action-comedy film.

  For my final production blog I just want to talk about the final changes made to my opening scene. All that was left to do really involved adding the music to the scenes that it would play through. I'm hoping to change the title by the end of the day before I start to work on my final task blog. Apart from that, the now finished opening scene came out so well that I can't help but smile at the work I created. Both my cast members and parents reviewed the finished product and said they enjoyed watching it very much. At some scenes they even began laughing at what was happening in the film. To me this means I successfully delivered the type of action comedy I was looking to produce. I am more confident then ever with my work because of their feedback.  On April 10th, I successfully recorded all my shots for the opening scene I've been working on. The finish product resulted to about 1 minute and 46 seconds of footage. However, a lot of factors played in to why this came about. Originally, before I started editing the second half of the scene, the total time added up to about 2 minutes and 16 seconds. Further examination was made which required me to cut one scene out. In the shot Mc was walking away towards the bad guy and his assault on a random victim. Unfortunately, my shadow was caught in the scene as well. This setback not only ruined the shot to be used but there's just not enough time to reshoot and try again. Apart from that I continued to knock back the total time under 2 minutes so that it wouldn't go past the time limit. April 8th, final filming session will be scheduled for tomorrow. I can't wait to get these shots out of the way and focus on editing. The best part is I am completely free afterschool to work on it. Usually I may have track practice which deters me from filming during week days. Thus, weekends are the most optimal and productive days to shoot scenes. I contacted my cast members to verify if they would be available tomorrow for shooting. Luckily, their response was yes so working on this project has been confirmed and scheduled. Apart from this, nothing else has changed. I'm still hindered from editing my final project any further until I've recorded the last 56 seconds. The only thing I fear may go wrong is if major props, costumes, or cast members are missing on set. It's been so long since my last recording session was done up until now.        April 5th, not much went into today's production session. I've decided to keep the song and movie title of my opening scene the same. It wasn't a bad choice to begin with but up until now I couldn't think of anything better. For the time being I still need to record the last 56 seconds of my scene. With the project deadline coming up, this must be done as soon as possible. Currently, Districts for Track and field is April 13th. This means I only have a few days before and two days after to work on my final project. A lot of my time ill be focus on preparing for the meet in advance for the next week. Thus, managing my time for finishing my opening scene will be quite challenging. I still have yet to add the music into the opening scene as well as more edits. The remaining pieces of the film are essential to matching the music with what's happening.  April 1st, Currently my final project is about a minute and 4 seconds long. After editing all the scenes shot so far, some shots will be scratched in future recordings at the rate I am going. Personally, I knew this would happen since we were required to make over 60 shots for the storyboard. However, the 2 minute limit is not enough time to cover every scene that I had planned out. I anticipated that the scenes I have now would total up to about 40 seconds or less. Clearly this wasn't the case. It is my belief that because I didn't take into account how adding title cards would affect the shots, each scene increased gradually time. As of right now, the name of the studio producing the film to who the music in the video is by has all been included. This means I need to add at least 5 more title cards into my final project.  March 29th      Today's focus was on editing the footage I've taken so far since the beginning of this project. Although I am disappointed to say that my filming won't be done before march ends. I did meet up with my filming crew on two different dates throughout spring break. However, those sessions were mostly comprised of brain storming potential scenes, edits, and title ideas. If this experience has taught me anything procrastination isn't worth the future hassle in the end. Now I have to wrap up my film sometime after my upcoming track meets to avoid any distractions. The only topics I've covered today consisted title cards and effects. Rather than use the two fonts I intended to use in my title cards I changed the fonts. Graphik Compact for the main title.      On March 18th, rather than film more scenes, I decided to start editing my final project just to see what I was working with. Although, I cant agree that it was my intentions to start editing so soon. In my previous blog, I stated that majority of filming was moved to spring break. This unfortunate decision was made since I had to move to Hollywood for a short while. Thus, meeting up with my cast members is no longer an option for the time being. While editing, I only took note of three main areas for my project. This included placement of shots, length of time, and slight cuts. Just to make things easier and a lot more organized, I set all my shots in chronological order already. It didn't take long for me to dump all the footage I had so far in to my preferred editing software, iMovie.      On March 13th, I made some slight adjustments to my storyboard and schedule. In order to make sure my film would meet the 2 minute time limit some shots were scratched so that more time will be available for the middle and end. As of right now, the beginning scene has been filmed and processed with later editing. This means that all the shots that take place while the MC is inside his house are done. The rest of the filming session will take place outside. Rather than this upcoming Thursday, I moved filming to occur during soring break. This way a have all the time in the world to record all my shots needed to start editing. I wont have to worry about school hours or work from other classes during spring break so production will be at a all time high. As I said before some shots had to be scraped to provide time for future scenes. These shots weren't entirely important to the central idea of the film, so, nothing was loss in the process.  On March 11th, I filmed the first 15 shots my opening scene for Nunchucks VS. the world. I'm still looking into a better name for the title of my project but until then I don't have anything better. It was a lot of fun filming for he first time on this project since all my other attempts had to be cancelled. Personally, I didn't expect to spend so much on shots that I had already planned out in my storyboard. Most shots required retakes or comparisons for the best optimal take. As I realized this during the filming session, I knew right away all my shots could not be covered in a day. However, I'm okay with that being the case because not only will this make my film more organized, I also get to spend a lot more time with the actors who are better known as my closest friends.      As of right now, I still haven't confirmed whether or not I want to use "Happy" by Pharrell Williams as my music choice. I want the song I choose to match the genre of my film. I still intend to produce an action-comedy. So the song that I do evidentially choose has to keep that same theme. For example, in the opening scene of guardians of the galaxy 2, baby Groot dances to "Mr. Blue sky" while chaos erupts in the background. The irony is that the song "Mr. Blue sky" is calm and simple unlike the scenario that unfolds in the scene. To continue, I am running into minor problems that hinder filming much. For starters, my brother and his family recently came down to visit this week and have been here since Friday. Because they are staying at my house, my mom won't allow me to go out as much.      Unfortunately I was unable to start recording today as planned. As you may know, my schedule was set-up for me to began filming either on March 2nd or March 4th. However, in the back of my mind I knew it would be difficult to squeeze in a filming session on these two dates in specific. For example, the reason as to why I was unable to film March 2nd had to do with my planning blogs. On that day, I was putting the finishing touches on my schedule and storyboard. So it would've been near impossible to start filming without these two subject properly organized. Moreover, I am an athlete for the Track and Field team at Fort Lauderdale high school. During this week, we had a home meet scheduled for Wednesday at 3:30 pm. Because of this, practice was mandatory on Tuesday, March 2nd, between 3 to 6 o'clock. Schedule   3/2/2021 OR 3/4/2021 ​ Depending on circumstances that may follow after today, I will began filming either on Tuesday or Thursday of this week. This session will include shots of scene 1,2,3,4 and 5. My goal is to cover all the shots that take place inside since it's likely to be too dark outside by the time recording starts.​ Film & editing blog due March 4th 3/8/2021, 3/9/2021, and 3/11/2021 Because I will be occupied during the weekend, filming will resume next week starting Monday.  For my opening sequence, the story will be about a young boy who wakes up at the start of the day and gets ready to head out the door. However once they leave their home, they stumble on their first problem of the day. Planning a storyboard is very important for this project because it helps organize what's needed to be filmed. This deters any random improv that isn't consistent with the story.
