Production Blog

     April 5th, not much went into today's production session. I've decided to keep the song and movie title of my opening scene the same. It wasn't a bad choice to begin with but up until now I couldn't think of anything better. For the time being I still need to record the last 56 seconds of my scene. With the project deadline coming up, this must be done as soon as possible. Currently, Districts for Track and field is April 13th. This means I only have a few days before and two days after to work on my final project. A lot of my time ill be focus on preparing for the meet in advance for the next week. Thus, managing my time for finishing my opening scene will be quite challenging. I still have yet to add the music into the opening scene as well as more edits. The remaining pieces of the film are essential to matching the music with what's happening. Moreover, once I have my completed film made and ready, more title cards can be added to show the conclusion of the opening scene. The truth is, most of my filming session were cancelled because major costumes or props were missing on set. Since, I rely on my cast members to wear the same outfit when we continue shooting, I have know control as to whether or not they remember to bring it while on set. This has been a nuisance for some time now, but hopefully it will all run smoothly from here on out. My next planned filming session will be this Friday. This date was chosen by me because on Thursday I will be preoccupied for the entire day. Not to mention my cast members have agreed in advanced that Friday is the best time for them to record the rest of the film.

Editing Blog: 1 minute Dilemma

 Ever since I finished filming, I couldn't wait to start editing my music video. Many ideas ran across my mind about how I should go about this process. Most of my focus was towards what edits can I possibly incorporate into my project that would make it entertaining. This consisted of transitions, filters, effects, and more. To start off, my first move was to position each scene in order to see what it would look like at it's base form. Upon further review I noticed that the video was about a minute and 25 seconds long. In all honesty, I didn't expect it to go that far beyond the time limit, but never the less, I had to fix this problem immediately before I could include anything else. So, after rewatching my video over and over again, I made small cuts throughout each scene. Majority of these cuts were shots that weren't meant to be included.  First scene- For the opening of my commercial, an athlete/actor will be dressed up in their track uniform. This will show the audience what team this commercial will be about. The actor will proceed to show off the jersey by tugging it from both sides. This should pop the logo in and out to attract the viewers attention. Also, the athlete will give a smug smile to the camera just to show how confident they're towards wearing the jersey. Second scene- The next scene will be another shot of a solo athlete in uniform while wearing medals. They will flex their biceps as a sign of showing their always winning. This will give the audience an idea of how talented Fort Lauderdale's track team really is. And to top it off, the actor will have a boastful expression on their face.  Third scene- The last solo shot will once again be an athlete in uniform.
