Filming Blog: FLHS Track & Carter park

On October 30th, I filmed my commercial with the hand-picked group of actors from my track team. At the start of filming, one of my athletes was late for shooting. In order to counter this delay of footage, I went ahead and shot all the scenes that did not require them. Moreover, I replaced the shot of an athlete wearing medals with holding trophies because I wanted to display team achievements rather than individual ones. Another slight change that was made while filming involved costumes. because there were not enough jersey's for every actor, one person wore a cross country shirt to keep the theme of running consistent. Each scene required at least 3-4 takes for variety. The most common difference between takes was the actor's movement and angle. After reviewing the footage taken, my commercial would've gone past the time limit of 30 seconds. Thus, I removed the over the shoulder shot of an actor starting a stopwatch for the runners. I did intend to add a shot of the actors running at a different angle if the video turned out to be too long just in case. Behind-the-scenes everyone had a great time being apart of the commercial. A lot of bloopers were kept to reflect on this moment.

On October 31st, I filmed at carter park just to see how different the setting would look like compared to Fort Lauderdale's track. However, me and my actors couldn't get all the scenes done due to bad weather. The track was closed throughout the entire day, thus, I'm left to stick with the scenes taken at school.
